Taxes...Referendum C, which suspended TABOR taxpayers' refunds, has collected an additional $6.7 billion for the state. Some now want to permanently revoke TABOR refunds. Instead, Joshua will work for a government that lives within its means. Joshua also opposes the proposed $321 million regressive tax on energy - a pass-though that will hit our poorest the hardest, and drive jobs out of the state. Health Care...Joshua's comprehensive approach to reforming Colorado's health care system nurtures a working partnership among free enterprise health care providers, insurance companies, and Colorado government. Unlike Joshua's opponent, who would implement tried-and-failed health care models, he proposes reforms that will preserve and increase patient choice in both care and insurance. Energy Policy...Colorado has an abundance of shale oil and natural gas reserves. Joshua will work to assure that they are accessed without damaging the environment. He will support alternative sources of energy, keep jobs in Colorado and our dollars here at home. Education... He'll find common ground among all of the parties involved in education without bias toward one special interest group or another. Increased choice and accountability will allow Colorado students to grow and prosper without decimating the state's budget or breaking Coloradoans' family banks.
