08.14.08 Dear Supporters and Friends, This week, we celebrate Tuesday's victory in the Republican primary for Colorado HD-6. Our campaign has a great deal to be proud of. We conducted a campaign of integrity and honesty on issues of grave importance, and in the course of doing so, we accomplished much. It's been a longer, tougher road than most campaigns, beginning with a petition drive, and ending with our victory in the primary. Here are the final numbers as reported by the Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News: Joshua Sharf 1,676 votes (71%) Rima Sinclair 694 votes (29%) I'd like to thank everyone who worked so hard and long on this campaign: those who helped plan it initially, to those who carried petitions all over the district gathering signatures, to those who hosted fundraisers and events, who walked precincts, raised money. I'd also like to thank all those who did one of the hardest things a campaign can ask-contributed your hard-earned money to our cause. I believe we did right by you, and now, will continue to do so. I would like to particularly thank my campaign manager, Ruth Prendergast, for her tireless efforts on the campaign, and for running it professionally. When she found time to sleep, I'll never know. I would also like to thank my web and email manager, Susie Ehrenfeld, for giving a professional campaign a professional look. One of our strongest assets has been New Media, and we plan on continuing to leverage it into the fall. Watch the website for upcoming details on when and how to tune in. Congratulations to Lois Court, the winner of the Democratic primary for this seat. Lois and I ran across each other a number of times walking precincts. I know she worked very hard during the primary campaign, and I expect her to work just as hard during the general. It'll be good for the district to have a high-level, informed debate on the issues. Now the campaign enters a new phase, the general election. Now we take our support of those most American ideas, freedom and liberty, and their offspring of hope and prosperity, on to the full electorate of HD-6 and the people of Colorado. This campaign is going to be a lot of work, and a lot of fun. I look forward to going there with every one of you.
