08.06.08 Dear Supporters and Friends, Less than a week to go before the primary, and the excitement is running high. Here's what's been going on: 3,463. As of the sending of this newsletter, that's how many doors I've knocked on in my weekend and evening walks through beautiful District 6. I've thoroughly enjoyed meeting each of you, my fellow Republicans and supporters, and learned much about the issues that concern you. I had a great time these last few weeks at the Polo Club and Park Lane Condominiums. I wish to extend my thanks to Bob Buckland and the Gravinskys for putting these Meet-the-Candidate receptions together. And while I'm at it, thanks to the Rabinovitches, the Dobros, and the Pearcys as well. Project Votesmart calls itself "the Voter's Self-Defense System." They provide voters with tons of important information about candidates, and ask candidates to fill out a biographical profile, and a "Political Courage Test," which asks them quite concretely (through multiple choice answers) which positions they support. All five candidates running for the HD-6 seat have told the Denver Post that they would be happy to fill out the test. Presumably, they have thought long and hard about their positions, and are prepared to defend them. And one has actually done it. And the others? Click here and here and here and especially here. Earlier last month, on July 8th, my opponent and I had a chance to speak and answer questions at the House District 6 Candidates Forum.
