06.05.08 Dear Supporters and Friends, It's official! Today, the Colorado Secretary of State officially notified me that our campaign has qualified for the August 12 Primary ballot. Needing 605 valid signatures to qualify, we turned in over 900, of which 707 were deemed acceptable. This is a margin that should easily survive any challenge. Once again, I want to sincerely thank all of the hard-working volunteers who spent time to make this possible. It's quite an achievement, and it's completely owed to them. At the same time, this is only the beginning. By qualifying for the ballot, we have the opportunity to make sure that the party, and eventually the district, is represented by someone who supports constitutional government, low taxes, market-based, consumer-driven health care reform, and expanded school choice. Petitioning onto the ballot is an arduous process — as it should be. If a candidate bypasses the Assembly process, he should be required to prove that his party's rank-and-file have considerable interest in putting him on the ballot. I'm proud to say we've passed that difficult test. Thanks again to all those who've helped us get this far. I greatly look forward to the primary campaign and the general election.
